STATUS REPORT
Mileage for Month 3: 87 miles
Total mileage (as of today): 231 miles
Ibuprofen: Yes.
This last week, I had to cut a run short for the first time. Soreness/pain is a part of this, and something that everyone goes through when they undertake something like this (there’s a least 3 chapters dedicated to pain/recovery in every marathon-ing book I’ve seen), so it’s not like this is unique or special. The M.O. is usually to run through it, which I’ve been doing, but this particular time, I just couldn’t do it. Especially knowing that there was a long run (15 miles) coming up in a two days… I couldn’t do it. It was very disappointing, and I’m still pretty bummed out about it. To not be able to cross that mileage off my calendar is hurting my OCD. So… kind of a setback.
But it’s okay! All mileage will be accounted by the end of Phase II. THOSE MILES WILL BE AVENGED. O_O
